A tragic incident was caught on camera in Greater Noida, where a man was run over by a train while trying to cross the tracks on his bike. The victim, identified as Tushar, a resident of Dadri, was attempting to cross the railway track despite the crossing being shut.
The video shows Tushar losing balance as his bike skidded on the track. He tried to lift the vehicle but noticed a train approaching. In a desperate attempt to escape, he tried to run but was struck by the train within seconds. He died on the spot.
Local authorities confirmed that the accident occurred at a closed railway crossing on Sunday afternoon. The disturbing footage has sparked renewed concern over safety violations and public negligence at unmanned or barricaded crossings.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of railway crossing accidents in 2023, accounting for 1,025 of the 2,483 such incidents nationwide. The state also reported 1,007 of the 2,242 related deaths — the highest in the country.
