New low-pressure area forms in Bay of Bengal; Rain likely from next week

The Bay of Bengal is once again witnessing the formation of a new low-pressure area, maintaining a streak of weather disturbances over the region. While the immediate impact of this new system will not be felt over the state's weather for now, meteorologists are closely monitoring its strengthening process and trajectory, especially as the Durga Puja festive period winds down and Chhath Puja approaches.

A key system currently operating is the low-pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, which is gradually losing strength. This system is expected to merge with another low-pressure area over the Southeast Arabian Sea after first turning into a cyclonic circulation. It is in the Arabian Sea that this combined system is likely to intensify further, although its chances of making landfall are currently considered low.

Simultaneously, weather scientists are closely monitoring the recent development over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation over the Andaman Sea is strengthening and is expected to develop into a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours. This system is predicted to move in a west-northwest direction and gather further strength.
