PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Kolkata Mayor and senior Trinamool leader Firhad Hakim briefed the presser amid the ongoing SIR process in West Bengal. He said, "there is no need to worry about preparing birth certificates and matching spellings. Mamata Banerjee is fighting any foul play in SIR. The Election Commission will not be able to delete the name of even a single person from Bengal."
The Election Commission will visit every household in the state from November 4th to December 4th to verify documents. This exercise aims to update the voter list and identify eligible voters. However, even before this process begins, people are experiencing panic over matching birth certificates and other documents.
Long queues have been forming daily at Kolkata Municipal Corporation offices for the past few days, with people queuing from 11 am to late evening. Most people have come to check or correct the spelling of their names, dates of birth, or parents' names.
