Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s much-anticipated romantic comedy, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, hit the silver screens on December 25, 2025. Despite being a major holiday release, the film’s opening day performance has been described as modest. While the teaser and trailer had initially sparked significant curiosity among fans, the film managed to earn only ₹7.50 crore nett in India on its first day. Analysts suggest that while the chemistry between the lead pair was a highlight, the lack of chart-topping music—a staple for successful Bollywood rom-coms—might have hindered its initial pull.
The film faced a formidable challenge at the box office due to a crowded theatrical window. Its primary domestic rival, the spy-thriller Dhurandhar, continues to be a juggernaut even in its third week. Dhurandhar reportedly earned ₹26 crore over its third week, holding onto a significant number of screens and dominating audience attention. This strong holdover performance left limited breathing room for Kartik and Ananya's new release to maximize its holiday potential.
Adding to the domestic pressure was the Hollywood blockbuster Avatar: Fire and Ash. James Cameron’s visual spectacle, which released last weekend, showed immense strength on Christmas day. The film collected an estimated ₹13 crore on Thursday alone, outperforming the new Bollywood release. The massive footfall for Avatar across multiplexes further divided the audience, making it difficult for the rom-com to secure a higher opening figure despite the festive atmosphere.
