A fire broke out in the early hours of Monday at Parvati Vihar Apartment on VIP Road in the Baghaihati Raghunathpur area, causing panic among residents. The incident occurred around 3 am on the seventh floor of the multi-storey building, where two brothers were sleeping inside a flat.
Initial reports suggest that the fire may have originated from a room heater, which caught fire while the occupants were asleep. Thick smoke quickly filled the apartment, prompting an emergency response. Firefighters rushed to the spot with five fire engines to bring the blaze under control.
Two children trapped inside the affected flat were rescued safely by the fire brigade. Firefighting operations continued for some time to prevent the flames from spreading to other parts of the building, while residents were alerted as a precautionary measure.
