The Supreme Court has granted bail to three accused in the 2024 Pune Porsche blood sample swap case, a matter that drew widespread attention due to allegations of evidence tampering following a fatal road accident. The case is linked to allegations that blood samples were deliberately swapped to manipulate test results after a Porsche car was involved in a deadly crash in Pune last year. Investigators had claimed the act was carried out to shield the main accused from legal consequences.
While granting bail, the Supreme Court took into account the stage of the investigation and other legal considerations. The court, however, made it clear that the bail does not amount to an acquittal and that the trial process will continue as per law.
The Pune Porsche case has sparked public debate over accountability and the integrity of investigative procedures. With the bail order now in place, attention is expected to shift back to the trial, which will determine the culpability of those accused in the alleged blood sample swap.
