Several people were injured in a violent clash involving sharp weapons on Thursday night in the Maju Ghatpara area of Maju Panchayat under Jagatballavpur in Howrah district. Tensions escalated between two families following a confrontation that turned physical, creating panic in the locality.
According to reports, the family of Suman Karar had been locked in a dispute with local resident Lalu Ghoda and his family for nearly two years. The long-standing rivalry allegedly flared up again on Thursday night, leading to a direct confrontation between the two sides. During the clash, Lalu Ghoda is accused of attacking members of Suman Karar’s family with sharp weapons. Suman Karar and his wife sustained injuries in the attack and were taken for medical treatment. The condition of the injured has not been officially disclosed.
Jagatballavpur police reached the spot soon after receiving information and arrested two individuals in connection with the incident. The main accused, Lalu Ghoda, has been absconding since the attack, and police have launched a search operation to trace him.
