BJP gherao 'New TMC' MLA Sandipan Saha's house in Entally, protest over 'cut money'
Fresh allegations of theft have triggered unrest at NRS Hospital in Kolkata, with a patient’s family claiming that repeated incidents inside the campus have gone unaddressed. According to the family, around 9 pm, they caught a woman allegedly involved in theft and handed her over to Entally Police Station. They claim she was released the same night around 11 pm and later threatened and harassed them.
The family further alleged that around midnight on February 19, they detained two more suspected thieves inside the hospital premises. However, they claim that neither the police nor the emergency department’s security personnel took action. They say they now feel unsafe within the hospital campus and are concerned about the alleged rise in miscreants operating inside the facility.
Sources claimed that no case has been registered against the two individuals detained later that night. Police have not issued any statement on the matter so far. A relative alleged that a wallet containing a mobile phone and cash was stolen, while another said he saw a youth roaming near the hospital who was allegedly stealing phones, adding that police had not been able to catch him.
