Police and central forces achieved a major success during a checkpoint (naka) inspection in the Kaikhali area on VIP Road on Friday. During the checking operation, a young man reportedly tried to flee after noticing the presence of police personnel deployed at the spot.
Alert personnel from Baguiati Police Station immediately chased the suspect and managed to apprehend him after a brief pursuit. Upon searching the youth, the police recovered a firearm along with cartridges from his possession. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
