No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹131 crore for the Indian men’s cricket team after their historic victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The announcement came after India successfully defended the title by defeating New Zealand national cricket team in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, India dominated the final and secured a commanding 96-run victory. With this win, the Indian side became the first team in history to successfully defend the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title and also the first to win the tournament three times.
The reward announced by the BCCI is higher than the ₹125 crore prize distributed after India’s previous T20 World Cup triumph in 2024, when the team was captained by Rohit Sharma. In an official statement, the board congratulated the players, support staff and selectors for achieving a landmark moment in Indian cricket.
India also earned tournament prize money of USD 2.34 million (around ₹21.5 crore) from the International Cricket Council. Opener Sanju Samson played a key role throughout the campaign and was named Player of the Tournament, contributing significantly to India’s successful title defence.
