Legendary martial artist and Hollywood action star Chuck Norris has passed away at the age of 86, his family confirmed in a statement. The actor, widely known for his role in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger, died on Friday morning after being hospitalised in Hawaii, leaving fans and the film industry around the world in shock.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the family expressed deep grief over his sudden passing. “It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace,” the message read.
The family also revealed that Norris had been recently hospitalised and thanked fans for their prayers and support during his final days. They requested privacy while mourning the loss of the actor, whose career and influence spanned several decades.
Born in 1940 in Oklahoma, Norris first served in the United States Air Force before rising to prominence as a martial arts champion. Over the years, he earned multiple black belts in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, eventually becoming a global action star and cultural icon admired by millions.
