The United States Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, has said that Donald Trump “deeply cares” about the relationship between the United States and India, following his meeting with the President at the White House. The remarks underline continued emphasis on strengthening bilateral ties amid evolving global challenges.
The statement comes days after Trump held a phone call with Narendra Modi, where both leaders discussed the ongoing West Asia conflict and its implications, including concerns around energy and food security. The leaders also agreed to remain in touch on efforts aimed at ensuring regional peace and stability.
Earlier, Trump had described his relationship with Modi as productive, stating that both leaders “get things done” and expressing confidence that ties between the two countries will continue to strengthen. The ambassador echoed this sentiment, highlighting the strong personal rapport between the leadership of both nations.
Gor also emphasised that the India-US partnership is rooted in shared democratic values, defence cooperation, and mutual strategic interests, adding that collaboration between the two countries will play a significant role in shaping the global order in the coming years.
