Sealdah to face 15-hour mega block this weekend; dozens of local trains cancelled

Eastern Railway has announced a 15-hour traffic and power block on the Sealdah division from 10:15 PM on June 6 until 1:15 PM on June 7 for maintenance work on Bridge No. 3. The block will affect both up and down lines, resulting in the cancellation of numerous suburban services across the Sealdah Main and North sections. Several trains will also operate with curtailed routes or modified origins and destinations during the period.

On June 6, multiple services on the Sealdah–Naihati, Sealdah–Ranaghat, Sealdah–Bongaon, Sealdah–Shantipur, Sealdah–Kalyani Simanta and Sealdah–Dankuni routes will remain cancelled. Affected train numbers include 31443, 31445, 31447, 31442, 31446, 31450, 31631, 31636, 33841, 33856, 31533, 31534, 31339, 31343, 31338, 31340, 32249 and 32252.

A larger number of cancellations will take place on June 7 across several suburban corridors. Services on the Sealdah–Kalyani Simanta, Sealdah–Naihati, Sealdah–Habra, Sealdah–Ranaghat, Sealdah–Barasat, Sealdah–Dankuni, Sealdah–Dattapukur, Sealdah–Barrackpore, Sealdah–Bongaon, Sealdah–Gobardanga and Naihati–Kalyani Simanta sections will be affected. The cancellations include trains such as 31311, 31313, 31317, 31319, 31323, 31411, 31471, 31415, 31419, 33651, 33653, 33655, 33657, 31615, 31617, 31621, 33461, 33465, 33467, 32211, 32215, 32219, 32227 and several corresponding down services.

Railways have also announced route curtailments for selected trains on June 6. The 31926 Gede–Sealdah Local will run only up to Barrackpore, while the 31540 Shantipur–Sealdah Local will terminate at Kalyani. The 33858 Bongaon–Sealdah Local will terminate at Dum Dum Cantonment, and the 31838 Krishnanagar–Sealdah Local will run only up to Ranaghat instead of Sealdah.

On June 7, some services will originate from alternative stations instead of Sealdah. The 31911 Sealdah–Gede Local will originate from Barrackpore, the 31511 Sealdah–Shantipur Local will originate from Kalyani, and the 33815 Sealdah–Bongaon Local will originate from Dum Dum Cantonment. Railway authorities have advised passengers using the Sealdah suburban network to verify train schedules before travelling and make alternative arrangements where necessary.
