Bihar man held for harassing girl

• A 25-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing a class XI student at Ambattur railway station
• Girl, mistakenly reached Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran main station instead of Ambattur station
• Ambattur AWPS registered a case under the POCSO Act and sent accused to judicial custody

A 25-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing a class XI student at Ambattur railway station on Wednesday evening classes. The accused has been identified as Narendra Singh from Bihar.

According to the police, the girl, a resident of Minjur, mistakenly reached Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran main station instead of Ambattur station while returning from a friend's residence.

The girl was trying to find a way to reach Ambattur railway station when the accused offered to help her. He took her to Ambattur station, forced her to go to the toilet and sexually abused her. The girl immediately raised the alarm and the onlookers caught him. The girl was rescued and the accused was handed over to the police. They were taken to Ambattur police station for further questioning.

Ambattur AWPS registered a case under the POCSO Act and sent him to judicial custody. The police also added that 17 sim cards were seized from the accused.
