Rahul Gandhi warns of ‘Hydrogen bomb’ on vote chori, BJP dismisses it as empty threat

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday escalated his attack on the BJP-led government, claiming that the party would soon reveal explosive details of alleged voter list manipulation. Speaking at the conclusion of the Congress’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna, Gandhi said the revelations would be nothing less than a “hydrogen bomb” against what he called “vote chori.”

“I want to tell BJP leaders, have you heard of anything bigger than an atom bomb? It is a hydrogen bomb. Be ready, the truth about vote theft will be out soon,” he said. Gandhi also added that his slogan, “vote chor, gaddi chhod”, was now echoing not just across India but even in China and America.

The BJP swiftly countered his remarks, with senior MP Ravi Shankar Prasad dismissing Gandhi’s comments as “duds” and questioning why the Congress leader has not submitted an affidavit to the Election Commission if his claims are genuine. “What he called an atom bomb has turned out to be a dud. What do atom bombs and hydrogen bombs have to do with elections?” Prasad asked.

The Congress has alleged large-scale manipulation of voter rolls, citing examples from Bengaluru Central and Bihar, accusing the BJP and the Election Commission of systematically “stealing” votes. However, Gandhi did not disclose details of the so-called “hydrogen bomb,” leaving speculation over what the party’s next move may be as Bihar heads towards crucial state elections.
