Man carries snake inside his jacket to hospital after it bites him

A man arrived for treatment with a live snake tucked inside his jacket pocket at the Mathura District Hospital in Uttar Pradesh. The patient, identified as 39-year-old e-rickshaw driver Deepak, claimed he had been bitten by the reptile earlier that morning while he was in Vrindavan. In a bizarre attempt to help doctors identify the species for better treatment, he decided to capture the 1.5-foot-long snake and bring it along.

The moment Deepak pulled the serpent out of his jacket in the emergency ward, panic ensued among the medical staff and other patients. Many were seen running for cover as the live reptile was brandished in the crowded hospital area. Chief Medical Superintendent Neeraj Agrawal immediately intervened, instructing Deepak to take the snake outside, citing the grave danger it posed to the lives of others in the facility.

Local police were summoned to the scene shortly after the commotion began. Officers, along with the help of bystanders, managed to secure the snake in a container until a rescue team could take charge of it. Interestingly, some officials suspect that the snake might have been Deepak’s pet, given how comfortably he was carrying it, although Deepak maintains it was a wild snake that attacked him unexpectedly.

Despite the chaos, the hospital staff prioritized Deepak's medical care once the reptile was removed. He was administered a life-saving anti-venom injection and kept under close observation. According to the latest medical bulletins, his condition is now stable and he is recovering well.
